A hectic Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale has concluded for another year and Proven Thoroughbreds can now confirm pricing on all 10 of its acquisitions.

As usual we have endeavoured to cater for a wide cross section of prospective buyers with six fillies and four colts purchased from $55,000 up to $200,000.

Three first season sires – OLE KIRK, FARNAN and BIVOUAC – feature in our Magic Millions 2024 portfolio while 10 different vendors/farms are represented.

With an average price of $278,446 for Book 1, the undervalued lots were harder to identify, but weeks of preparation including farm visits in the lead-up to the sale helped us secure 10 yearlings at or under $200,000.

In a recent online survey, the record of syndicators with yearlings that cost under $200,000 between 2013 and 2020 (current 5YOs) was revealed. Proven came out on top in terms of prizemoney with $36,558,888 earned from $13,417,950 expenditure, while our winners to runners strike rate was calculated at 83.23%.

The Magic Millions Gold Coast January Sale has been a happy hunting ground for us, producing stakes winners like SCALLOPINI, STROLL, GOTTA KISS, PALAZZO SPIRIT, CANDIKA, SIR MOMENTS, etc. Hopefully there are more in the class of 2024!

The below yearlings will be eligible for the Magic Millions race series from next year which offers an unprecedented $23.7 million in prizemoney across 29 races, including a new $3 million slot race for 3YOs over 1100m.
