A half-sister to Group 1 performed juvenile ODYSSEY MOON is the latest yearling to join the Proven Thoroughbreds ranks.
The daughter of MAKFI (sire of high class females BONNEVAL, SOFIA ROSA, ELEONORA, IMPOSING LASS and RUN NAAN) was purchased for $100k as lot 124 on the opening day of the 2018 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale at Oaklands, Victoria.
ODYSSEY MOON (by SNITZEL) was in the top echelon of two-year-olds during the 2014-15 season, winning the Inglis Nursery (1000m) on debut, before placing twice at Group 2 level and finishing runner-up behind PRIDE OF DUBAI in the Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m). In subsequent seasons, ODYSSEY MOON won or placed in six stakes races.
The dam RUN TO THE MOON has three winners from three foals to race and is a half-sister to champion US galloper JOSTLE, a multiple Group I winner and earner of more than AUD$2.3 million.
With DUBAWI (IRE) the paternal sire, this filly has an attractive international pedigree and is eligible for the lucrative Inglis Race Series.
She also has a great hindquarter and boasts an intriguing mix of speed and stamina in her blood.
Joe Pride at Warwick Farm will be the trainer.
