The sale that has produced 3 of the last 5 Everest winners supplied Proven Thoroughbreds with 5 quality yearlings this week.
The late THINK ABOUT IT (purchased by Proven for $70,000), BELLA NIPOTINA and NATURE STRIP all emerged from Melbourne’s Inglis Premier Yearling Sale to claim first place in the world’s richest race on turf.
The other two Everest winners since 2021 – KA YING RISING and GIGA KICK – were not offered at public auction.
The Premier Sale is also responsible for 33 graduates to have earned $1million or more in Australia over the last 7 years.
Proven’s classy gelding ACCREDITED is three quarters of the way to becoming the 34th millionaire after being purchased for $100,000. He is set to return to racing during the back end of the autumn.
Other recent Melbourne Premier success stories for Proven include COSMONOVA and CANADIAN DANCER.
COSMONOVA was a $220,000 graduate and has amassed $390,000 prizemoney in 20 career starts. She gets the chance to enhance her record in this Saturday’s G3 Wenona Girl at Randwick where a top 3 finish is likely to push her broodmare valuation into 7 figures.
CANADIAN DANCER, who cost a mere $50,000, became a stakes winning 3yo and track record holder, returning her owners $411,700.
Proven’s 5 acquisitions at the 2026 Premier Sale cost between $70,000 and $275,000 + GST. Joe Pride will train four of them, while the other will be prepared by local trainer Charlotte Littlefield.
The most pertinent of our purchases is the TRAPEZE ARTIST x WALTZING WODKA filly, whose full-sister PINITO is one of the favourites to win the Group 3 Aspiration Quality (1600m) at Randwick this Saturday.
Like the Inglis Classic Sale, all Premier yearlings are eligible for the Inglis Xtra Race Series, which offers an incredible $100,000 of bonus prizemoney across 52 selected maiden races all over the Eastern Seaboard. This is an inspired initiative by Inglis, principally because it allows owners a shot at big money at the very first juncture of a racehorse’s career.
Note all share prices include GST, Inglis Xtra Race Series nomination, insurance, transport, veterinary costs and all regulatory fees.
