It’s always exciting to see a debutante storm home over the top of rivals, even if it’s Royal Nowra (not to be confused with Royal Ascot!).

So it was in the lucky last, a 1000m Maiden at the South Coast track Tuesday when ALL TOO HARD gelding ACCREDITED finished powerfully to snare victory.

Shin soreness had delayed the launch of his racing career until late in his 3yo season but the manner of the victory suggests more could be in store.

The same trio of Joe Pride, Proven and Rory Hutchings have combined to break maidens for some illustrious gallopers in recent years, namely PRIVATE EYE and THINK ABOUT IT which is hopefully a good omen for ACCREDITED.

“Really impressive”, said jockey Hutchings.

“As soon as I balanced him up, I knew we were going to reel in those in front. I was impressed”.

Joe was equally as effusive.

“Look, I know it was only a country maiden but he’s overcome some difficulties there and I like the way he really launched late. It’s been worth the wait!”

ACCREDITED was purchased by Proven for $100,000 from Milburn Creek’s draft at the 2021 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

The win was Proven’s 30th in the calendar year and 41st for the 2022/23 season with prizemoney edging towards $10m.

Proven and Pride Racing are currently offering shares in an ALL TOO HARD yearling filly out of GUILTY AS SIN. She has recently completed her breaking in at Thenford Farm and has impressed breaker Tim Miller:

“She’s done really well this filly. She’s a beautiful, big, strong girl with a great action and purpose in everything she does.”
