STRATEGY: Most of the well-bred yearlings are purchased by Sydney or Melbourne interests, and therein lies opportunity. The factory-sized stables that now dominate those jurisdictions have little to no presence in Brisbane. So by buying similar quality yearlings and leaving them to race in Queensland, Proven has a distinct advantage on the racetrack.
ALLIANCE: Proven is in the fortunate position of being the conduit for ownership with leading Brisbane stable of Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted. 27 winners this season has them running second on the Brisbane trainers’ premiership with a far superior strike rate of 31.8% (only one other stable is above 21%).
