Spectacular autumn weather greeted a bumper roll-up to our annual Kolora Lodge open day with the O’Dea-Hoysted stable.
Faces old and new spent the first half of their Sunday at the picturesque Kolora Lodge, nestled on the outskirts of Brisbane. The property has been breaking-in, spelling and pre-training Proven Thoroughbreds horses for more than a decade now and our class of 2023 were once again immaculately presented.
Yearlings by top class sires like I AM INVINCIBLE, FASTNET ROCK, WRITTEN TYCOON & TORONADO were paraded in front of more than 150 people before a BBQ lunch and beverages were served.
Co-trainers Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted provided some valuable intel on our next generation of racehorses as well as giving us their horses to follow into the Queensland Winter Carnival.
Proven and the O’Dea/Hoysted stable are planning to have strong representation in Queensland over the coming weeks with SCALLOPINI, STROLL, CANADIAN DANCER, CONTEMPTUOUS, BETTER GET SET and FETCH all set to contest feature races.
That cohort will be joined by the Proven/Pride Racing pair of PRIVATE EYE and THINK ABOUT IT, with the former set to open his Brisbane campaign in the Group 2 Victory Stakes at Eagle Farm this Saturday.
A big thank you to the Kolora Lodge staff for putting on another fantastic open day as well as Helen O’Dea and the engine room of O’Dea-Hoysted Racing – Ronda Hoysted!
