Promising filly BROOK MAGIC made it back to back Kembla 1000m wins when careering away with the B60 at Kembla Sat. Running more than a second quicker than her peers in the 2 year old Maiden, the Hinchinbrook juvenile also reeled off the slickest final sectional of the day, 34.24 in dispensing with her older rivals by more than 2 lengths.

Trainer Joe Pride was delighted with her performance as was rider Jeff Penza (pictured) who feels BROOK MAGIC may be a short course specialist such is her speed and enthusiasm for racing. She’s likely to now come to town with the imposing record of 2-1-0 from just 4 starts.

Even more meritorious is the fact that this filly has exhibited an ability to win on both a HEAVY 10 (first up) and GOOD 4 conditions. She also rose 4.5kg to carry 59kg in higher grade and led all the way after sitting just behind the leader at her previous run.

Joe is likely to nominate for the 1200m 2yo event at Warwick Farm Saturday JULY 8 but  may be reserved for a shorter event depending on how she comes through this impressive Kembla victory, The win was PROVEN’S 19th for 2017.
