A key change of tactics helped four-year-old mare INVINCIANO return to the winners’ circle at Randwick on Wednesday.

Trainer Joe Pride indicated pre-race that INVINCIANO would lead the field and the decision paid off handsomely.

Rider Jay Ford had little trouble finding the front and when the challenges came in the home straight, INVINCIANO fought doggedly to hold a 1.3 length margin at the winning post.

It was the mare’s third career win from only nine starts and importantly, she now has a metropolitan win next to her name.

By I AM INVINCIBLE from EQUIANO (AL MAHER), INVINCIANO appears to have thrown more to her dam side, given that Wednesday’s victory was over 1550m. And all indications are that she will race further than a mile.

Proven Thoroughbreds purchased INVINCIANO from the 2017 Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale for $100,000.

She becomes Proven Thoroughbreds’ 56th winner for the calendar year and 21st for the season.
