The imposing MASTERATI displayed his class when comfortably disposing of Class 2 rivals with a hefty impost of 62.5kg at Goulburn on Friday.

MASTERATI was ridden by Jay Ford, who expertly positioned the gelding just off the leader from a wide draw before the pair surged to a three-quarter length win.

Trainer Joe Pride has had to carefully manage MASTERATI through a series of niggling injuries, but Friday’s victory showed he has the gelding back in fine fettle after a short break at Emeran Park where the staff do a fantastic job.

It was the third victory in 10 career starts for the aptly-named son of MASTER OF DESIGN and represents Proven Thoroughbreds’ 20th winner for the calendar year.

A special mention must go to both trainer and jockey. The Pride stable has prepared eight winners in the last month while Jay Ford has been riding in inspired form, steering 11 horses first past the post since June 23.
