Sibling jockeys Stephanie (pictured) & Boris Thornton struck more blows for Proven Thoroughbreds and trainer Steve O’Dea with another Queensland double on Saturday.

Younger sister Stephanie rated the old warrior COOL SEQUENCE perfectly to record his 7th career victory in the Open 1110m Hcp at Doomben whilst brother Boris also showed rivals a clean pair of heels when guiding THE BLACK TIDE to an all the way win in the lucky last at the Gold Coast.

The Thorntons have been on a roll in recent weeks for the O’Dea/Proven team with a series of wins on the likes of RECKLESS CHOICE, SIENNA ROSE, SO SPIRITED and SO YOU SHOP. Stephanie only came to Queensland a few months ago to join Steve as a 2 kilo claiming apprentice and Boris has just returned from a serious shoulder reconstruction.

The O’Dea stable is now the 3rd leading camp in the Brisbane Metropolitan training ranks and Proven Thoroughbreds is enjoying a terrific year that’s hitherto yielded 45 winners and 10 trips to the winners’ circle in the 2019/20 season which began August 1.

All three of our remaining available horses are with the O’Dea stable – visit our AVAILABLE HORSES page for more info.
