Proven Thoroughbreds’ week ahead will begin with a stakes runner at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday.

Last start winner SIENNA ROSE (pictured) will chase her first slice of black type in the Listed Oxlade Stakes (1200m) for in-form trainer Steve O’Dea. The two-year-old daughter of MORE THAN READY has drawn perfectly in barrier five.

The Joe Pride-trained ARGENT D’OR wasn’t as lucky at the barrier draw, coming up with the outside gate in the 1100m BM85 at Rosehill but plunges 7.5kg in weight after an excellent third placing with 61kg at Kembla Grange last month.

Our next runners will not be until Wednesday when REAL STING and SO SPIRITED start at the Gold Coast and Canterbury respectively. The former is second up from a long break in the 1400m C3 while the latter is expected to appreciate getting back on a soft track in the 1250m BM74.

Proven Thoroughbreds’ trialists in the week ahead will be the Pride-trained BROOK MAGIC at Warwick Farm on Monday, and John Thompson two-year-olds THE GOLDEN HIND and BANG ON TARGET at Gosford on Wednesday.

In other news, Group-winning juvenile colt SESAR (O’Dea) is expected to line up in Saturday week’s Group 1 JJ Atkins (1600m) after his fast-finishing fifth in the Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1350m).
