A busy week of runners for Proven Thoroughbreds will begin with TAHSIN’s defence of the Mudgee Cup (1600m) on Friday.

The Joe Pride-trained six-year-old is one of the leading chances by virtue of his win in last year’s edition of the $50,000 country feature.

Friday will also see DISCREET CHARM (pictured) contest a 1500m BM64 Handicap at Mornington as she continues her preparation for our Victorian trainer Archie Alexander.

Proven Thoroughbreds’ other Friday representative will be SIENNA ROSE at Ballina, with trainer Steve O’Dea hoping to jag some valuable BOBS Bonus prizemoney across the border of Queensland and New South Wales.

On Saturday our sole runner is old warhorse GAMBLESTOWN in the 2000m BM88 at Rosehill. The eight-year-old gelding is backing up from a solid run at Warwick Farm on Wednesday and plunges 8.5kg in weight.

Then on Sunday, the O’Dea-trained HI ZERO steps out for his second start in a 1400m maiden at the Sunshine Coast following an encouraging debut at the track three weeks ago.

Meanwhile another maiden, CHOUXTORIAL, has accepted for Nowra on the same day however trainer John Bateman is likely to save the gelding for Tuesday’s Wagga meeting where he is due to contest the 1400m maiden plate.

We also have plenty of trialists coming up, with KYLEASE and INVINCIBLE COMMAND to stretch their legs at Warwick Farm on Tuesday, and THE BLACK TIDE and SEFIRE to jumpout at Doomben on the same day.
