An off-season Super Saturday looms for the Proven colours with no less than 9 runners pencilled in to run.

Headed by Winter Stakes contender ACCREDITED (pictured) who tackles a couple of stablemates in the day’s feature, the Rosehill team also includes consistent 4yo COLUMBIA BLUE.

The Pride stable will ensure the lime green and black silks will have a few trips to the laundry this week. Kiwi-bred GONDORFF should relish the rain affected surface at the Kensington Track Wednesday, another couple of 3yo’s HARD LINER and PROXIMA CENTAURI head up to Hawkesbury Thursday and an additional maiden of that age, OPINE backs up at Wyong Saturday.

Not to be outdone, Matt Hoysted’s Eagle Farm yard will also saddle a 3yo seeking her inaugural victory on Wednesday. LOVE REBEL, narrowly outgunned last start, has the benefit of running on her home track Wednesday as she strives to set the standard for a 6 strong QLD representation Saturday.

The big Sunshine Coast Metro card contains Proven runners BREAK FREE, SHOT OF WHISKEY, OCEAN ZAR and NAVAL TRADER. The day’s line up is completed by resuming fillies CARPET RIDE and EMPHATIQUE at the Gold Coast.

Our form analyst Nic Ashman is currently on annual leave so there will be no Sectional Review article, Saturday Tip or Form Previews for owners during July.

Information on all of Proven’s latest acquisitions can be viewed on our AVAILABLE HORSES page.

SIRE ON FIRE – BRUTAL

A stellar June for this emerging son of O’REILLY who provided 17 winners supplemented by a GROUP 1 2nd in Saturday’s Tattersall’s Tiara at Eagle Farm. A Randwick double the previous Saturday was another highlight of the month that saw his progeny successful from 1100m-2400m.

BLACK BOOKER – TOWN CRIER

Though beaten a half length into 3rd on Saturday, the SPIRIT OF BOOM gelding has never raced better than this campaign that has also seen him in the victory and runner’s up stalls in his three runs thus far. Very deserving of another win soon.

RUNNERS THIS WEEK

Randwick-Kensington Wednesday July 1

Maiden Plate 1150m

GONDORFF

Joe Pride/Adam Hyeronimus

Comment: An unflattering 8.6 length beaten margin didn’t do his debut run justice, struggling to get round the turning Wyong circuit the gelding ran on resolutely despite racing greenly. If he’s learned from that experience could surprise in this.

Eagle Farm Wednesday July 1

Maiden Handicap 1300m

LOVE REBEL

Matt Hoysted/Daniel Moor

Comment: Just missed at the Sunshine Coast a few weeks ago and looks beautifully placed in this slightly longer race on her home track. A great chance to break through.

Hawkesbury Thursday July 2

Maiden Handicap 1350m

HARD LINER

Joe Pride/Reece Jones

Comment: Caught the eye late on debut over 1100m when finishing 6th. Staying bred kiwi that can only improve going up to 1350m.

PROXIMA CENTAURI

Joe Pride/TBA

Comment: Resuming. Didn’t fire in three runs during her first racing preparation. Needs to lift but probably won’t get a proper guide on her until she races over further.

Wyong Saturday July 4

Super Maiden Handicap 1350m

OPINE

Joe Pride/TBA

Comment: Greenness has let him down in 2 runs thus far, the latest when unable to overcome a wide run in weak company at Canberra. Backs up quickly here to face his moment of truth.

Sunshine Coast Saturday July 4

QTIS BM80 Handicap 1200m

SHOT OF WHISKEY

Matt Hoysted/Fiona Sandkuhl (a3)

Comment: Honest speedster who needs control in front to run his best races. Effective in this grade and will look the winner at some stage but the long straight will test him late.

BREAK FREE

Matt Hoysted/Jag Guthmann-Chester

Comment: Finished hard to get the money in midweek company at Doomben a month ago. Loves this course where she’s unbeaten in 3 runs so poised to bag a Metro victory if she brings her A game to this.

BM85 Handicap 1400m

NAVAL TRADER

Matt Hoysted/Jag Guthmann-Chester

Comment: Has been an unlucky customer despite bringing a consistent record to the table over the last three seasons. Has won here and boasts  a strong record at the trip but just may be in need of another run being a rising 7yo.

OCEAN ZAR

Matt Hoysted/Jake Bayliss

Comment: Hit a career high when successful over a mile at Eagle Farm some 10 weeks ago. Given a letup since so likely to find this trip a bit sharp especially if the surface is affected. Look for her when back at her home track over a touch further.

Rosehill Saturday July 4

L Winter Stakes 1400m

ACCREDITED

Joe Pride/Aaron Bullock

Comment: Was uncharacteristically out of the money in the similar company first up at Randwick. Has since trialled impressively but much will depend on the surface as anything worse than a 6 or 7 compromises his chances. Is a very accomplished galloper in this grade.

BM78 Handicap 1100m

COLUMBIA BLUE

Joe Pride/Tom Sherry

Comment: First-up. Scratched from Warwick Farm last week due to a wide gate and has unfortunately been dealt another awkward barrier here. Will likely get back and be flying home late, particularly in wet conditions.

Gold Coast Saturday July 4

QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate 1015m

CARPET RIDE

Matt Hoysted/TBA

Comment: Didn’t have the best of luck on debut at Eagle Farm back in the Spring but has trialled well on affected ground this time in. Could easily surprise in this especially if the surface is affected.

EMPHATIQUE

Matt Hoysted/TBA

Comment: Been in the money in 50% of her half dozen starts but does need to find that little bit extra to progress. Looks to have come back well winning a recent Doomben trial and well placed in provincial grade even though her maiden status is proving to be persistent.

Beaudesert Tuesday July 7

QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate 1015m

CARPET RIDE

Matt Hoysted/TBA

Comment: Didn’t have the best of luck on debut at Eagle Farm back in the Spring but has trialled well on affected ground this time in. Could easily surprise in this especially if the surface is affected.
