Proven Thoroughbreds came away with seven yearlings from the 2026 Inglis Classic Sale – widely regarded as THE value for money sale in Australia.
This was the same number of additions made at the 2025 Classic Sale however this year our aggregate spend was up from $705,000 + GST to $760,000 + GST.
Our seven yearlings were secured in a price range of $40,000 to $220,000 at an average of $108,571 (slightly higher than the sale average of $97,253).
Trainer Joe Pride will put the polish on two colts and a filly while Matt Hoysted and Kerry Parker each take home a colt and a filly.
The most obvious incentive to buy from this sale is the Inglis Xtra Race Series which offers an incredible $100,000 of bonus prizemoney across 52 selected maiden races all over the Eastern Seaboard.
WILD THOUGHTS, a graduate of this sale in 2024, won the bonus in a Kembla maiden last year. With the additional BOBS bonus, the Kerry Parker-trained gelding earned $126,625 for breaking his maiden, recouping more than three times his purchase price in one fell swoop.
This is an inspired initiative by Inglis, principally because it allows owners a shot at big money at the very first juncture of a racehorse’s career.
