Having always revealed above average ability at home, it was heartening to see LARADO again get the money at Eagle Farm Saturday, lifting his record to an impressive 4: 3-1-0 to the roars of his delighted band of owners.
The opposition was modest in keeping with a BM70 contest and he was aided by a sweet run in transit from the one gate, but the gelding found the line strongly as trainer Matt Hoysted summed up post-race.
“He let down really well. Daniel (Moor) felt he may have got there too soon and wanted to idle a bit, showing that there’s probably more there which he’ll need when he goes up in class.”

Having broke the class record and run his last 600m in a slick 32.40 seconds, Matt’s keen to keep LARADO at the short course of 1000m, a view echoed by Moor on return to scale.
“I was slightly concerned for a stride or two that he was going to be left in front after beginning so well but he came back underneath me beautifully. He wouldn’t have done that over 1200m.”
It’s been an excellent start to the new year for the Hoysted yard, having prepared 9 winners through January with Daniel Moor in the saddle for three of them.
The victory was also Proven’s 23rd in Season 2025/26 and endorses the team’s positive view of TORONADO’s progeny. There are currently three unraced youngsters of his in the stable, including the dashing 2yo colt out of HEAVENLY BRIDGES. A small number of shares are still available….see HERE.
