A busy weekend for Proven Thoroughbreds awaits with a host of chances across three venues.
ACCREDITED, COSMONOVA (pictured) and LITTLE COINTREAU form a three-pronged attack on Randwick at Saturday while promising 3yo WILD THOUGHTS resumes at Kembla Grange.
Then at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, BOARD MEMBER will attempt four consecutive wins and 2yo gelding HIT THE SWITCH makes his anticipated debut.
Though PRIVATE EYE didn’t win last Saturday’s Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap, his brave third elevated him into the top 10 all-time prizemoney earners in Australasia. (read article HERE).
This week’s SECTIONALS REVIEW article (authored by form analyst Nic Ashman) gives Nic’s verdict on the Stradbroke Handicap and JJ Atkins results from last Saturday.

SIRE ON FIRE – SO YOU THINK
Top class stallion in the middle of a real purple patch with 34 winners in the last 31 days including Group 1 Queensland Oaks heroine YOU WAHNG. Significantly, those winners have ranged in distance from 1000m all the way up to 3700m over the jumps!
BLACK BOOKER – MELTDOWN
Showed good improvement from his first-up run to his second-up run when 3rd in the 1400m maiden at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday. A more economical run would have seen him just about win so hoping he can draw a decent barrier next time out. Looks like he has the scope to run at least 1600m which will open up some doors for him.
BET WITH NIC
Our times analyst Nic Ashman will be publishing his popular best bet for Saturday’s racing on Friday.
Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners
Randwick Saturday Jun 21
BM94 Handicap 1200m
ACCREDITED
Joe Pride/Nash Rawiller
Comment: Done no favours with the barrier and is a month between runs reverting to 1200m after failing to handle the Melbourne way of going. Classy type but probably better suited back out to 1400m next start.

COSMONOVA
Joe Pride/Alysha Collett
Comment: Was doing her best work late first-up over 1100m around Canterbury. Usually improves with racing and will appreciate getting out to 1200m on a bigger track if she gets a run.
BM78 Handicap 1400m

LITTLE COINTREAU
Joe Pride/Nash Rawiller
Comment: On the quick back-up with blinkers on after holding on for third over 1500m at Rosehill. Wide gate makes his task difficult but can figure if the speed is on up front.
Kembla Grange Saturday Jun 18
Midway Maiden Handicap 1200m

WILD THOUGHTS
Kerry Parker/TBA
Comment: Promising type coming off some impressive trials this time in. 1200m on his home track looks an ideal starting point to the preparation.
Sunshine Coast Sunday Jun 19
BM65 Handicap 1000m

BOARD MEMBER
Matt Hoysted/TBA
Comment: Resuming. Finished last campaign with three wins on the bounce and has been prominent in her recent trials. Yet to win first-up a minor query.
QTIS 2YO Maiden Handicap 1200m

HIT THE SWITCH
Matt Hoysted/TBA
Comment: 2yo son of FARNAN on debut. Recent trials encouraging and looks ready for 1200m.
