The Joe Pride-trained ACCREDITED returns to action at Canterbury on Wednesday as he aims to graduate to Saturday metropolitan grade this summer.
Wet tracks and bad luck kept ACCREDITED out of the winners stall in three runs last campaign but a drying surface for his first-up assignment has the gelding set to start a firm favourite.
He is one of a quartet of runners this week for Proven which includes last start runner-ups ZATANNA and SECOND SUN from the Matt Hoysted stable.
With the final Group 1 of the year run and won in Melbourne, attention now shifts to WA where things are starting to heat up.
This weekend the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) will take place with the Eastern states represented by BELCLARE, DEMOCRACY MANIFEST and LIGHT INFANTRY MAN.
Meanwhile, our resident times analyst Nic Ashman is excited about the WA Guineas (1600m).
“I like this SEPTEMBER MORN,” he said.
“She has terrific acceleration and if she can extend out to the mile, they’ll find it hard to stop her.
“She might be the kind of horse to be competitive in the G1 Kingston Town Classic (1800) against the older horses.”

Fast becoming a real sire of stayers. CRICLE OF FIRE was one of them winning the Sydney Cup over 3200m during Sydney’s autumn and then last weekend we had MEHZEBEEN take out the G3 New Zealand Cup over the same trip.
BLACK BOOKER – INDEFENSIBLE
Was poorly into stride on debut at Canterbury before reeling off some good late splits in a fast run race. Will improve a stack and might even appreciate a tad further next time. Stick with her.

Comment: Going well without winning but this will be the fittest he presents at the races this prep. In addition, this is the easiest race he’s contested after he comes out of a city race where they ran decent time. Winning chance but the wet track is a concern.
