IN FLIGHT’s rampant winter continued at Randwick on Saturday with her fourth win from just five starts.
Despite an impost of 60kg, the Joe Pride trained filly once again made light work of her rivals, winning the 1100m BM72 Handicap by 2 lengths for regular pilot Jay Ford.
IN FLIGHT’s victory sealed the Breeders and Owners Bonus Scheme premiership title for her owners, having banked more BOBS prizemoney than any other horse in NSW this season.
“Oh she is flying, there’s three in a row.”

Ford, who has been aboard the filly in her last three wins, was full of praise for the daughter of FLYING ARTIE.
“She’s going great guns, she’s has a fantastic preparation,” he said.
“She built through her gears nicely and lengthened really well with that 60kg on her back.
“She really won with authority today and is getting better and better each time she steps out.”
A $220,000 yearling, IN FLIGHT was purchased from the same breeder (Goodwood Farm) and at the same sale (Magic Millions Adelaide) as high profile stablemate PRIVATE EYE.
Whilst IN FLIGHT has a way to go before reaching the same heights as PRIVATE EYE, she is building an imposing record of 5 wins and 2 seconds from 9 starts with prizemoney now totalling $386,250.
Pride said he will consider backing up IN FLIGHT at Rosehill next Saturday. Alternatively there is another suitable race (1100m BM88 Handicap) back at Randwick on July 27 which would give her a final shot at more BOBS prizemoney before the season renews on August 1.
Proven’s winners tally for the season now stands at 53.
