Always encouraging to see a horse break their maiden by five lengths and that was the case with LEVAR on Thursday.
LEVAR started a prohibitively short quote of $1.24 in the 860m dash at Gatton and lived up to market expectations with an effortless display of speed.
Despite being a touch slow from the gates, the gelding quickly mustered for apprentice rider Emily Lang to leave his rivals in his wake.
“Super win from him today,” Lang said post-race.
“He was marginally slow away from the barriers, but he got up on the bridle within two or three strides and once I got to the front he travelled sweetly.
“He gave a really good kick and has definitely improved on his last run (3rd at Ipswich on debut).”

Co-trainers Matt Hoysted and Steve O’Dea will look to keep LEVAR over the short courses as it allows him to utilise his high cruising speed.
The impeccably bred ‘pocket-rocket’ is by I AM INVINCIBLE out of Group 1 winning sprinter SHAMAL WIND and was secured by Proven Thoroughbreds for $150,000 at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
LEVAR became Proven’s 46th winner for the season and 26th for the calendar year.
