Lightly raced mare OCEAN ZAR justified her short quote with an effortless win at Eagle Farm on Wednesday.
Sent out a dominant $1.50 favourite, OCEAN ZAR looked to have a clear class edge on her rivals in the 1400m BM65 contest and that proved to be the case as she strolled to a three-length victory under a composed Boris Thornton ride.
The win followed an excellent first-up run at Doomben last month where she flashed home for third in a slowly run 1200m.
With a record that now reads two wins and four placings from just seven starts, Saturday grade now looks the logical progression for the daughter of ZOUSTAR.

OCEAN ZAR was a very immature yearling when Proven paid just $20,000 for her at the 2021 Inglis Easter Sale but is now flourishing under the patient handling of her co-trainers Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted.
In fact, she was the cheapest lot through the ring at the entire sale which once again highlights the unnecessary emphasis buyers and vendors place on precocity.
OCEAN ZAR becomes Proven’s 8th winner for the year and 28th for the season.
