The progressive ACCREDITED steps out in Saturday metropolitan company for the first time in his short career at Randwick this weekend.

Trainer Joe Pride will use an off-season 1100m BM72 Handicap to test the waters with ACCREDITED, a two time winner from three starts.

First-up at Warwick Farm last month, the gelding confirmed his promise with a strong win against BM64 rivals.

The son of ALL TOO HARD will be joined at Randwick by stablemate STOCKMAN who contests the 1600m Open Handicap as he prepares for a tilt at the Group 3 Summer Cup (2000m) on Boxing Day.

Meanwhile in Brisbane, SCALLOPINI lines up in the Listed Lough Neagh Stakes (1400m) second-up from a break. The veteran gelding is building towards a potential fifth appearance at the Gold Coast Magic Millions meeting next month.

One debutante will face the starter for Proven this week – 3yo SPIRIT OF BOOM filly JET STREAM at Ipswich’s Friday card.

BLACK BOOKER

CARTWHEELS started favourite for her debut last week but bumped into a much more experienced rival and that proved telling as she looked a little unsure of herself when finishing runner-up around Doomben. Based on her trials alone she’s worth following next start but thought there was still plenty of merit in her first-up defeat.

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners

Kembla Thursday December 14

Class 1 & Maiden Plate 2000m

SLIPSTREAMING

Joe Pride/Alysha Collett

Comment: Steps up to 2000m for the first time in her career but she’s bred to run the trip and all three runs this preparation have been encouraging. Wide draw the query.

Ipswich Friday December 15

QTIS 3YO Maiden Plate 800m

JET STREAM

Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Emily Lang (a)

Comment: On debut. Not the strongest of maidens here and gets in with 54kg after the claim. 800m at Ipswich is a specialist circuit so will be interesting to see how she adapts.

Eagle Farm Saturday December 16

Listed Lough Neagh Stakes 1400m

SCALLOPINI

Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Justin Huxtable

Comment: Back and never in the hunt first-up with 61kg. Can position closer to the speed second-up and is the class runner again.

Randwick Saturday December 16

Open Handicap 1600m

STOCKMAN

Joe Pride/Rory Hutchings

Comment: Drops sharply in trip from his win at Rosehill a fortnight ago. Won’t get sufficient moisture in the ground to figure in the finish here but needs the hit-out ahead of the Summer Cup over 2000m on Boxing Day.

BM72 Handicap 1100m

ACCREDITED

Joe Pride/Rory Hutchings

Comment: Promising galloper who overcame trouble to win well first-up at Warwick Farm. This tougher again but has plenty of upside. Slight query is the three and a half weeks between runs.
