ACCREDITED snapped a frustrating sequence of near misses for Proven Thoroughbreds with a decisive win at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

Not since THINK ABOUT IT’s memorable Everest success on October 14 had a Proven horse graced the winners’ circle. A handful of close placings (most notably PRIVATE EYE’s second in the GIGA KICK Stakes) preceded ACCREDITED’s triumphant return on his home track.

A winner at Nowra on debut before placing in a hot form race at Gosford during the winter, ACCREDITED followed up two encouraging trials with a strong victory against BM64 rivals.

However, it wasn’t exactly smooth sailing as rider Rory Hutchings had to bullock his way clear in the home straight to nab the other Joe Pride-trained runner MERRY MAC BOY in the shadows of the post.

To win at Sydney metropolitan level as a 56-rated horse would suggest ACCREDITED is well above average but for now we will place the 4YO gelding conservatively.

The son of ALL TOO HARD is the epitome of Joe Pride’s patience. Having gone shin sore three times as a younger horse, the 4YO has it all in front of him now and is well on the way to recouping his $100,000 purchase price from Milburn Creek’s draft at the 2021 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.
