Rising star THINK ABOUT IT faces another stern test of his credentials in the Group 1 Kingsford Smith Cup at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
At Group 1 weight-for-age level there is no where to hide but the Joe Pride-trained gelding has earned his place in the $1 million contest with seven wins from just eight career starts.
Regular rider Sam Clipperton will do the steering from barrier eight.
Should THINK ABOUT IT perform well on Saturday, the $3 million Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) back at Eagle Farm on June 10 beckons.
In other news, Proven Thoroughbreds bid farewell to STELLAR MAGIC at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on Tuesday. The stakes performed daughter of STAR TURN was sold for $140,000 to Glenlogan Park after earning $227,635 in an 18 start career for her owners.

BLACK BOOKER
SCALLOPINI was enormous first-up in the BRC Sprint last Saturday. Lumping 60kg, the 8YO gelding was sent forward from a middle draw and sat outside the leader. He dashed for home at the 200m mark only to be collared late, finishing within 0.9 lengths of the winner. Three weeks into the Stradbroke Handicap with a 4.5kg weight drop looks ideal.
Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners
Doomben Wednesday May 24
Maiden Plate 1200m
DEEP CLEAN
Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Ashley Morgan
Comment: Knocking on the door, having been placed in two of her three runs back this preparation. First look at Doomben but drawn well and should be suited back to 1200m.
Class 4 Plate 1050m
RICH LISTER
Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Cejay Graham
Comment: Talented mare on her day. Resumes here off a lengthy break so may be lacking a touch of fitness but was impressive winning over this track and distance when fresh last year.
Gosford Thursday May 25
Class 1 Handicap 1600m
LICHESTER
Joe Pride/Jay Ford
Comment: Showed plenty of fight when breaking her maiden at Kembla over 1300m and then beat all bar the seasoned LADIES’ GEM when stepping up to 1500m. Gets to the mile now and will be interesting to see if she improves on top of the ground.
Eagle Farm Saturday May 27
G1 Kingsford Smith Cup 1300m
THINK ABOUT IT
Joe Pride/Sam Clipperton
Comment: Shooting for six wins on the trot. Drawn well and seems to rise to every challenge. Hard to knock.
