There is one distinguishing feature in many of SNITZEL’s best progeny, including our latest stakes winner STROLL.

A glance over the yearling snaps of some of SNITZEL’s Group 1 winners highlights this ‘distinguishing feature’, which is significant because it goes against the grain of what sprinting sires typically produce.

The likes of TRAPEZE ARTIST, SHAMUS AWARD, SWEET IDEA, SNITZERLAND, IN THE CONGO, WANDJINA & RUSSIAN REVOLUTION all have excellent length through the barrel – meaning they stand over plenty of ground.

STROLL and indeed our other SNITZEL stakes winner SCALLOPINI also share this conformational trait.

So too is the SNITZEL x PALAZZO CRISTALLO filly we bought earlier this year and encouragingly, both breeder Gerry Harvey and co-trainer Steve O’Dea have retained a share – just as they did with STROLL 12 months ago.

Harvey has bred thousands of horses but is selective in terms of the ones he chooses to race. The SNITZEL x PALAZZO CRISTALLO filly is only the second time he has taken a share with Proven Thoroughbreds.

This filly’s full-brother won a 2YO barrier trial at Warwick Farm last month. Watch the replay HERE.
