Proven Thoroughbreds’ first two-year-old of the season is the highlight runner in the week ahead.
SIENNA ROSE (pictured as a yearling), trained by Steve O’Dea, is set to have her first start in the opener at Doomben on Saturday following an impressive trial win during the week.
The daughter of MORE THAN READY is closely related to multiple stakes winner MERCHANT NAVY and was a $100k purchase at the Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
But before the much-anticipated debut of SIENNA ROSE, stablemate EVERYDAY LADY chases back to back wins when the three-year-old filly lines up in the 1200m Class 1 at the Sunshine Coast on Friday night.
LOTHARIO could also feature at Doomben on Saturday depending on how much rain falls in Brisbane over the weekend.
On Sunday at Moruya, the John Bateman-trained BELLA SCENICA strikes an ideal 1650m race to shed her maiden after finishing in the placings at her last two starts.
At Canterbury’s midweek meeting, John Thompson’s CANNON RUN runs in the 1550m BM72 with blinkers on for the first time.
The Thompson stable will also produce four Proven Thoroughbreds gallopers at the trials next week, with CHOUXTORIAL, GREENSPAN, TAHSIN, and THE GRANDSON all entered for Randwick on Tuesday.
