A busy week awaits the Proven Thoroughbreds with runners on each of the next seven days.

All three of our affiliated stables – Joe Pride, Steve O’Dea/Matt Hoysted and Kerry Parker – will have representatives at the races this week.

The O’Dea/Hoysted-trained GET EVEN is set to make her debut at the Sunshine Coast Sunday following an encouraging trial at Deagon last week. The 2YO filly is the first foal out of former Proven Thoroughbreds-raced mare SLEEP TIGHT.

Also featuring at the Sunday meeting will be city winning stablemates RED RUBI and HE KNOWS. Both are resuming from spells with bigger targets in mind.

Meanwhile, on the same day at Gosford, promising filly RUBINOCCHI (pictured) will look to bounce back from a forgettable run at Randwick earlier this month when she missed the start and over-raced before being blocked for a run in the straight. Prior to that the 2YO daughter of RUBICK was an impressive winner at Kembla Grange.

Upcoming Proven Thoroughbreds runners

Wyong Tuesday July 20

Maiden Plate 1350m:

SECADIA

Joe Pride/Brenton Avdulla

Comment: Hasn’t figured in two trials back this time in. Probably needs further than this if he’s going to measure up long term. Does appear to handle wet tracks which is in his favour here.

Randwick-Kensington Wednesday July 21

BM72 Handicap 1300m:

INVINCIANO

Joe Pride/Brenton Avdulla

Comment: Has been cruelled by wet tracks so far this preparation but the stable is convinced she’s going as well as ever. If the track can get back to a soft (5) she’s a chance of improving sharply and figuring at big odds.

Kembla Grange Thursday July 22

BM64 Handicap 2000m:

HIGH TRIBUTE

Joe Pride/Regan Bayliss

Comment: On trial at the trip but gives the impression she is looking for the added distance. Loves racing here but needs to rediscover winning form.

BM64 Handicap 1500m:

GREENSPAN

Kerry Parker/Brenton Avdulla

Comment: Hampered by set backs recently and given no favours from the draw here. Will need the speed on and the track to improve.

3YO Maiden Handicap 1400m:

BHUTAN

Kerry Parker/Sam Clipperton

Comment: Got back and didn’t run on first-up. Suspect she was just run off her feet there and will appreciate rising to 1400m. May ultimately be looking for beyond a mile.

Gold Coast Saturday July 24

Class 2 Handicap 900m:

TRIP THE LIGHT

Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Jag Guthmann-Chester

Comment: Short course specialist coming off a win over 800m at Ipswich. Looks well placed again.

3YO Class 1 Handicap 1200m:

Gosford Sunday July 25

Class 1 Handicap 1000m:

RUBINOCCHI

Joe Pride/TBA

Comment: Forget she ran last time. Missed the start, over-raced badly behind horses and was disappointed for a run in the home straight. Win prior to that was good when she was able to lead. Will be hard to beat if she can do that here.

Sunshine Coast Sunday July 25

Class 1 Handicap 1000m:

RED RUBI

Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Baylee Nothdurft

Comment: Well-bred mare returning from a spell. Ended last preparation with a strong win at Doomben over 1200m and strikes a winnable race here first-up.

Maiden Handicap 1200m:

HIGH HANDED

Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Justin Huxtable

Comment: Disappointed in two runs since making late ground first-up over 1200m. Needs to lift.

3YO BM65 Handicap 1000m:

HE KNOWS

Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Baylee Nothdurft

Comment: Resuming. Handy type with a class edge on most of his rivals here.

2YO QTIS Maiden Handicap 1000m:

GET EVEN

Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted/Baylee Nothdurft

Comment: 2YO on debut. Trialled well at Deagon last week and should appreciate getting onto a big track.
