The Week Ahead Oct 27-Nov 3

Oct 26, 2018

Speedy mare BROOK MAGIC (pictured) returns to racing at Randwick Saturday in her first run for a couple of months.

The Joe Pride-trained daughter of Hinchinbrook is vying for win number five and her second over the course and distance in a career of 14 starts thus far, to kick off a busy week for Proven Thoroughbreds.

Our other Randwick runner is the old stager GAMBLESTOWN who's struggled to figure this preparation. The eight-year-old has been thereabouts in recent runs but does strike 2000m for the first time and will wear a tongue tie.

A couple of runners for our team on Wednesday. Denman gelding TAHSIN has his first run since joining the Joe Pride stable in either the 1300m or 1550m BM70 at Randwick whilst at the Toowoomba meeting hardy sprinter COOL SEQUENCE returns from in a spell in the 1200m B85.

Pride unveils a pair of three year old debutantes at Gosford Thursday. Trial winner INVINCIANO by I Am Invincible and the NZ bred WAR DECK, a gelded son of Declaration Of War, take on the 1000m and 1100m Maidens.

No trialists for the Proven team this week but welcome news from QLD Racing with the announcement that the state government has responded to the industrial action by participants (no racing Saturday in Brisbane) by alloting an extra $26 million a year to racing revenue.
