Proven Thoroughbreds secured one of the highlight lots from session five of the Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale on Sunday.

An impressive colt by SNITZEL, from the MORE THAN READY mare ROSE OF MULAN, was knocked down for $200k and will be trained by Steve O’Dea at Eagle Farm.

The dam is a half-sister to the six-time winner and stakes placed ABSENT FRIENDS.

SNITZEL is a sire who needs no introduction and his position in the Australian breeding industry was underlined at this particular sale with three of his yearlings bringing $1 million and beyond, including the sale-topper at $1.6 million.

In the opinion of Jamie Walter and Steve, this colt was a well-balanced individual that oozed quality with a magnificent, intelligent head.

It is the highest price paid for a Proven Thoroughbreds yearling this year but an accurate reflection of the colt’s worth.
